Privacy Policy
Effective 17/9/2026
Avinspark Technologies Private Limited (“Avinspark”, “we”, “us”) operates Elephant Lens. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you use the Elephant Lens website or mobile app, why we use it, and how to contact us about it.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account and preferences. When you request a sign-in link or use an account, we process your email address, account identifier, any name you provide, language preference, and choice about publication emails.
Membership and transactions. If you purchase or manage a membership, we process the plan, access status, transaction references, payment status, and billing history needed to provide access and maintain records. Payment processing is handled by Razorpay. We do not ask you to enter card credentials into Elephant Lens support messages.
Reading and viewing activity. When you sign in, we store investigations you save, reading or video progress, and source downloads so your library, access controls, and resume features work. Download records can include the source, time, expiry, and IP address.
Device and security data. We use session cookies or app session storage, session timestamps, device/browser information such as a user-agent, and network information such as an IP address to keep you signed in, enforce account and device limits, prevent abuse, and protect content. The mobile app keeps its session data on your device.
Information you send us. If you contact support, submit a correction or grievance, or apply to contribute, we process the information in your message or application. Contributor applications may include your name, date of birth, contact details, location, application answers, and materials you submit. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use this information to authenticate you, deliver content and memberships, restore saved reading and viewing positions, respond to requests, process payments, send requested or service-related email, secure the service, investigate misuse, comply with applicable obligations, and maintain records. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking. Publication emails are optional and can be turned off in account settings.
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular use, we will request it through an appropriate notice or choice. Withdrawing an optional choice does not affect processing needed to fulfil an existing transaction or a legal obligation.
SERVICE PROVIDERS AND DISCLOSURES
We share information only as needed to run Elephant Lens, including with infrastructure and email providers that host or deliver the service, Razorpay for payment processing, and Apple or Google where their app-store services apply. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect users, the public, or the service. Each external service may process data under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not publish a support requester's identity or a contributor applicant's private application simply because they contacted us.
STORAGE, SECURITY, AND INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
We use access controls and technical safeguards for account, payment-reference, and protected-content systems. No networked service can guarantee absolute security. Providers may process or store information in countries other than India; we review those arrangements against applicable requirements.
RETENTION AND DELETION
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here, then delete or de-identify it unless a legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution obligation requires longer retention. We retain financial and transaction records for at least eight financial years, and longer where a legal hold or applicable requirement requires it. An account-deletion request does not automatically erase transaction records that must be retained by law, public correction records, or information needed for an active legal matter. We will explain any such exception when responding to the request.
YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS
You can change available language and publication-email preferences in your account. You may contact us to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, to raise a privacy concern, or to ask about an account-deletion request. We will verify requests as appropriate and respond under applicable law. To make a request, email grievance@elephantlens.com and identify the account email, if you have one. Do not include passwords, payment-card details, or identity documents in your first message.
CHILDREN AND MATURE CONTENT
Horror Files is intended for adults and is marked 18+. We do not intentionally request personal information from children through that section. If you believe a child has provided information to us inappropriately, contact us so we can review it.
